Sankhu YMRC

Creative Women Group 

        YMRC Sankhu gathered women of Sankhu Village. YMRC Sankhu has a group of women; The group calls “Creative Women Group” (CWG). Most of the communities in Nepal, there are many boundaries for women regarding traditional customs. Sankhu village is also historical and traditional place of Kathmandu valley. There are still many boundaries for women to do and learn something for them. Women have still lack of voice. It is hard to visit and work outside for women. Most of the women should dependent with their husband and their family because of traditional society and lack of skills.

        Therefore, YMRC formed this women group according to women interests and to change society for developing village and get involve to women on social issues.There are around 20 members on this women group. Women are doing and mobilizing through YMRC Sankhu on different community projects for development. All of women are very energetic. They want to learn and share their knowledge to all. They have mission to expand their projects on different remote villages in Nepal. That’s why they are trying to mobilize with different projects on some rural villages around sankhu. On this group, they always have meeting once a months among with all of the members. During the meeting, they will share their issues and knowledge with all and YMRC team and make plans to move forward.

  The main visions and proposes of CWG are:

- Raising self reliant women,

- Skill developing and sharing knowledge with each other

- Organizing micro credit program and entrepreneurship,

- Participating on awareness programs for community,

- Volunteering services on different occasions and programs of community etc...  

         The women are very glad to be a member of Creative Women Group. They are grateful with YMRC Sankhu for giving this plat form to women. Creative Women Group is seeking different skills and training on various things. They are ready to learn knowledge and skills from different people from different countries.
