Urbashi Thapa: Manager urbashi_w.jpg

Namaste! My name is Urbashi Thapa. I live in Bungamati, ward no. 7 in Chunikhel. I am getting my BA in Population and Environment at Tribhuvan University, Patan Campus. I have been working as the manager here at the Bungamati tele-center since 2004. I have done computer training in both hardware and software, as well as attending Youth Summit 1 in Sankhu and Youth Summit 3 in Gorkha, where all the youth leaders of similar tele-centers around the country meet to share success stories and challenges, in an attempt to improve all the work we do. I am also involved in teaching computer lessons at the Tri-Ratna Co-operative Secondary School. I think the tele-center is very important for the community by providing information about agriculture, health and other topics. Community members, old and young, also came here to use email, internet, fax, ISTD and computer desktop services. In addition, Bungamati tele-center also provides daily market prices for farmers of agricultural products, which are downloaded from a government webpage. This allows our local farmers to continue to be competitive in the market.

Namaste! My name is Surya Laxmi Tuladhar. I live in Bungamati, Lalitpur, ward no. 4 in Buspark. I am working toward my BBA (Bachelor of Business Administration) in Lalitpur College in Kupondole. I want to be a business woman in Nepal. My hobbies are playing basketball, volleyball, badmintion, dancing, singing, visiting new places and making friends. I started working in the tele-center in 2008. I think the tele-center is a necessary part of our community as a way to provide access to information technology, as well as a platform to perform community service. As part of our work, we also volunteer to work with older people in our community, visiting them and organizing field trips to important temples around Nepal. Even though we are very tired at the end of the day, it is worth it to see their happiness.
