The Co-operative Society Bungamati Ltd. (CSB) established in Jan. 1990, is a community based organization, incorporated under prevailing Co-operative Act  2048 B.S. (1990 A.D.) of Govt. of Nepal. The CSB, possibly a first co-operative in the country has been established  with the aim to work in the field of Education  and Vocational Training for socio economic development of Village. The CSB has been working for well being of the society with the principles of cooperatives that is  “not for charity, not for profit , but for  service”. The CSB has 110 general members including an Executive Committee of 13 members. The executive committee looking after the day to day affairs. The major activities and services the CSB has been providing are mentioned below.

 TRI-RATNA CO-OPERATIVE SECONDARY SCHOOL 

The CSB has been operating a Secondary level school in Bungamati Village, which is one of the well organized school in and around the Bungamati Village . The school has a tradition of comprehensive teaching and wide range of opportunities for students services. The school experience is not limited to class room teaching. There are well equipped Science Laboratory, Workshop for Vocational Training, Library with good collection of books and social activities and  an eclectic selection of activities for interaction with local community and people from around the world by international volunteering services.

                                                  Books , Magagines and Newspaper.

·         Science Lab                              : Well equipped Science laboratory.

·         Play Group Room                     : A class room for play group with adequate joyfull                                                                       learning materials

Students Support Services:

The CSB/ Child Welfare Fund  (CSB/CWF) , a small charity has established with the help of CSB Members, National , International Organizations and Dignitaries under the umbrella of the CSB to assist the children in difficult circumstances for their education. At present 28 children, some of them are conflict victims are receiving educational support.

The CSB/ Child Welfare Fund  (CSB/CWF) are grateful to all the  National , International Organizations and Dignitaries who raise their lantern toward the poor children. The CSB/CWF  is seeking a generous support from the people and organizations to support well being of the under served children. On behalf of the respected donor the CSB / CWF provides services for school education, hostel and logistic support.

SHELF HELP TAILORING  SHOP:

A Tailoring Workshop in the school has been set up on January, 2008 with the generous support from Mr. Peter Ells and Mrs. Amanda Slasberg , Australia with aim to assist to the students who need to help themselves for their education. The Tailoring Workshop provides a sewing and cutting training to the needy  students and after completion of the training they will provide a part time work to prepare school dress and other items required by the school while continuing their study. The scheme has been initiated in a view to meet the  permanent resource for child support programme.

ELDERS DAY CARE CENTER

With the colaboration of Shanti Ashram and             Co-operative Society Bungamti Ltd., a day care center is running for elders citizen in Bungamati VDC. Senior citizens from Bungamati assembled every saturday  in newly constructed building for praying and bhazan. This provides the senior citezens a good company and peace.

    THE MISSION AND VISION OF CSB :

Nepal lives in villages , majority of population of the country depends directly on the use of village resources. Villages are important source of water, food products, hydro-electricity, timber and mineral resources for their livelihood and well being . Despite all these valuable resources villages has still remain poor and giving little attention in the development agenda. Bungamati and neighbour villages are experienced same as an average villages of the country does.

The Co-operative Society Bungamati , a community born organization committed to work in reaching  into under served rural community by providing education, Vocational training and promoting income generating activities to make difference in village. The CSB is seeking their valuable support from the people and organizations to join us in sharing the suffering of another.
